Verifying Email Domain

This tutorial will help you configure site emails to be sent from your domain

The emails you sent to your customers are almost as important as the services you offer. Emails talk for your brand. If they’re composed professionally, they can drastically increase your brand loyalty.

In Smartjobboard by default, to protect your emails from being treated as spam, all emails are sent from [site-name]@mysmartjobboard.com email address.

However, you can configure your Smartjobboard website the way, so that all outgoing emails will be sent from your domain name.

If you wish your emails to be sent from your own email address, then you will need to verify the ownership of your domain name.

To do so, please navigate to your admin panel > System settings > General Settings and in Site Email field enter your email address.

Next, click “Verify Domain” button and create DNS records mentioned in a pop-up in your Domain Hosting provider. If you feel that you need more assistance with creating DNS records, please contact your Domain Hosting provider and ask them to create the DNS records for you.

Please note: You can't verify Yahoo, Gmail etc domain names, as you can't own them. You can verify only the corporate domain names you actually own.

To create DNS records you can in your Domain Hosting. As each Domain Hosting has its own interface, in our example below we will cover how to create DNS records using GoDaddy. Following this simple logic, you can create DNS records using any Domain Hosting provider. In case you feel that you need more assistance with creating DNS records, feel free to contact your Domain Hosting's customer support.

Creating DNS records using Godaddy

To get started, login to your GoDaddy account and click on Domains Tab

Then system will offer you a list of all available domains. Choose there a domain name that you wish to use for your emails and click Manage DNS

Then scroll to the button of the page and on the right-hand you will see an “Add” button. Click this button and start creating DNS records.

Click this button and start creating DNS records. You will need to create 4 DNS records. Information for each DNS record you can copy and paste from the pop-up in your Smartjobboard admin panel. n the Type field you will need to choose three times CNAME.

In the Host field please add the values copied from the Name field in your Smartjobboard admin panel.

In the Points to field please add the values copied from the Values field in your Smartjobboard admin panel.

Also, please don't forget that once you should choose in the Type field the TXT value and in the host field add the _amazonses value or "@" sign.

When finished, you should have ready 4 DNS records setup for your domain name. They will look similar to this:

Finally, navigate back to your admin panel > admin panel > System setting > General Settings and click “Verify Domain” once again.

If everything is done correctly, system should automatically verify your domain name and all your future emails will be sent from your new email address.
